Hey-ya Minecrafters,
Today we present you the long-awaited multiplayer update that will make your battles more varied and exciting. You can now create your own team and play together in 2vs2 or 3vs3 matches against other teams.
You can also split up your team and choose your opponents individually. Matches with up to 6 players in your own team are possible.
Perhaps you've already noticed: There are many new features in the Duels Lobby. The new Create Team item can now be found in your hotbar. Right-click to create your own team and your inventory will change automatically. You can use the diamond sword to invite other players to join your team or right-click to challenge other teams. You will also find the team overview in your inventory, which you can use to view your team at any time:
The number of team members can be viewed in the overview. A maximum of 6 players can join a team. You can leave the team at any time by clicking on the red X. You should also know that no tournaments can be played as long as you are in a team.
Furthermore, many new commands have been added with the multiplayer update. You can find an overview of all the new commands here.
/team invite <player> | Invites a player to your team |
/team accept <player> | Accepts a request |
/team deny <player> | Rejects a request |
/team info | Lists all members of your team |
/team kick <player> | Kicks a player out of the team |
/team leave | Leaves the team |
/team promote <player> | Promotes a player |
/team delete | Deletes your team |
From now on, a new NPC will be waiting for you at the Duels spawn. This will allow you to enter the 2vs2 as well as the 3vs3 queue and fight together against other teams.
Once you have decided on the appropriate match selection and team size, you can then select the kit you want to play with. You then enter the queue and a short time later the match begins.
Please note: There must be at least 2 players in a team to be able to join a match. If you are alone in a team, you cannot join a queue.
But what happens if your own team has more than 3 players? Is a match even possible then? Good news - yes, it is possible! If you click on the rocket in the match selection, your team can then be split into 2 teams. For example, if your team consists of 5 players, you can use the team split to put three players in one team, while the other two are put in the other team - very simple!
In the team split GUI, you can set which team the players should be in for the match. During the match, you can recognize the teams by their respective colors. This allows you to customize your team at any time!
What do I have to click on to set the team?
The Team Split function is initially available exclusively as a Premium feature. As a Premium player, you can create unlimited Team Split Matches. We hope you enjoy trying out the new functions!
There are also other quality of life changes. For example, there is now a scoreboard in the Kit1vs1 matches. On this you can see the kit played, the name of the opponent, unranked / ranked and your own Elo.
However, the latter is only visible to players with a Premium rank and above. If you do not have a premium rank, your own Elo will not be displayed. In addition, the name of the opposing team leader is shown on the scoreboard during team matches.
Would you prefer to deactivate the scoreboard? No problem! It can be deactivated and activated again at any time with the command /togglescoreboard.
Furthermore, an additional item will appear in your hotbar at the end of each match, which you can now use to send a direct rematch request to your opponents. Previously, this was only possible via chat, but as you asked for it to be easier in the future, we have listened to your feedback and added this new item to make it even easier for you to start a rematch.
If more players are fighting, more place is needed during team matches. Our building team has done a great job here, so that we can present you with 5 new maps to coincide with the multiplayer update!
