Heyho Minecraft friends,
the time has finally come - a long-awaited wish is finally coming true today! We are very happy to introduce you to our brand new rejoin system in our game mode Bingo. This feature, which you have been asking for over the past few years, is now available on our network as an exclusive premium beta!
What is the rejoin system?
Who doesn't know it? A round that's been going on for a long time and is slowly coming to an end ends due to a disconnection through no fault of your own and there's no way to join the round again. Unsatisfactory!
But that's over now!
From now on, after leaving a round through no fault of your own, you will be able to join it again and end it without any disadvantages.
This means in particular that
How does the rejoin system work?
If your connection is interrupted during a round through no fault of your own, you have the option of reconnecting to the round as long as it has not been regularly ended.
If you enter the network and the system detects that the previously played round is still running, you will receive a message in the chat. In this message, you will be offered the opportunity to rejoin the round that is still running:
If you click on the [REJOIN] button, you will automatically be sent back to the server of your previous round and can continue it. Of course, you can also use the new “/rejoin” command for this.
As there may be multiple disconnections, we have decided not to include a maximum number of available rejoins. This means that you can rejoin a round an infinite number of times.
If you are unable to rejoin a round, this may be because
Where is the rejoin system already installed?
The rejoin system is initially only being tested in our Bingo game mode.
However, in addition to the rejoin system, a handful of new features have been built into Bingo to complement and complete the rejoin system. For example, when you rejoin, your inventory, levels, all effects (including perks) and your life will remain unchanged.
In addition, a so-called AFK-NPC will be placed on the spawn platform when a player leaves the round. It does not matter whether the player leaves the round through no fault of their own or on purpose.
The remaining players in a team can then interact with the absent player's inventory via the NPC. This is to ensure that important items remain accessible and can also be used to complete a row on the bingo map.
If the absent player re-enters the round, they will receive their starting equipment and the rest of their inventory back and the NPC will disappear from the spawn platform.
Who can use the rejoin system?
As already mentioned in the title, the rejoin system is initially a so-called premium beta. This means that the rejoin system will initially be available exclusively to players of Premium rank or higher.
During this phase of development, we want to collect feedback and suggestions for improvement in order to further optimize the system before it is finally released to all players.
When will the rejoin system be available in other games?
We can't say for sure at the moment.
Like Bingo, each mode has specific requirements for the rejoin system. This means that certain specifications must first be made and set up in each mode. In addition, new (supplementary) systems may have to be designed and implemented before the rejoin system can be used. Of course, all of this takes a little time.
However, our aim is to offer the system in as many games as possible in which rejoining has a tangible practical benefit. We are mainly talking about turn-based games in which the rounds may take a little longer and are not over after 5 minutes.
You can definitely stay tuned!
As usual, you can take another look at all the new features added by this system in our detailed changelog.
We hope you like the new system and hope you enjoy testing it out! Please let us know how well the rejoin system has worked for you, in which situations there are still problems and whether you already have specific requests for some game modes. Of course, suggestions for improvement are always welcome in the forum or on our Discord.
With kind regards
Your GommeHD.net Team
