Heyho everyone!
It has been quite a while since we last released an update for
Cores, so we are super happy to present you a
brand new update today!
We took extra care to focus on your ideas and suggestions for this update. By increasing the leave punishment and implementing draws we are aiming to make premature leaves as unattractive as possible. Furthermore, extra hearts will balance the gameplay should players nevertheless leave the ongoing game. Finally, we have also readded a very special old map to the map pool!
The following features have been changed:
Funaro Comeback:
In this update, we have readded a very special old map to the map pool named "Funaro". What differentiates this map from most others, is that the Cores are not located left and right, but behind each other. The team size is 2x5.
Scoreboard:
The scoreboard was edited to now no longer only display the amount of kills in the game, but instead the player's K/D. Please note that the K/D is not immediately calculated in-game. Killing 10 players and dying only 5 times will result in 5/10 being displayed. This was suggested by the community.
Increased leaving punishment:
Leaving a game prematurely lead to a 300-second exclusion from Cores previously and was changed to a 600-second exclusion instead.
Leaving punishment exception:
Leaving the game while being the last member of your team will no longer trigger the 10-minute-long exclusion from Cores.
Draws in Cores:
To prevent endlessly long games, Cores games will now automatically end in a draw after
45 minutes. We are aiming to make camping at the Cores much less attractive using this new feature.
Extra hearts:
When playing Cores without a party, it often occurs that your teammates leave the game. This can drastically decrease your chance of winning. Hence, we have added a feature, which gives each player of a disadvantaged team one heart per additional player the other team has. Should a member of the enemies' team also leave the game, balancing the team distribution once again, all extra hearts will be removed.
Diamond armor durability:
To prevent excessive camping at a Core, the durability of diamond swords and diamond armor is automatically halved upon crafting.
More players in games:
To give both teams in a game a better chance of winning, the countdown before a game has been adjusted to only start once these amounts of players are in the waiting lobby:
- 2x4: Starts with a minimum of 6 players
- 2x5: Starts with a minimum of 8 players, instead of 7
- 2x6: Starts with a minimum of 9 players, instead of 8
- 2x7: Starts with a minimum of 11 players, instead of 9
- 2x8: Starts with a minimum of 12 players, instead of 10
Nevertheless, the countdown is set to 20 seconds once the waiting lobby is full.
We hope you enjoy this update and have fun playing and testing it! Feel free to give us feedback in the
International sub-forum. Finally, I would like to thank
@Summerfeeling for the great development of this update and
@C3d for the banner.
See you out there,
Your
