Hey-ya Minecrafters,
After the Friends System and the Party System have already received major updates in the past, today we can finally present you with the missing update for our Clan System.
As you may have already noticed, the first preparations for today's update have already been made in recent months with the introduction of clan owners. We are therefore all the more pleased to finally be able to present you with all the changes we have made to the clan system.
In addition to standardizing our user interfaces, the main focus of the update was on improving the interaction options within the clan and extensively expanding the general clan features based on your ideas and suggestions.
New clan groups
Clan owners
With our small update on April 6, 2024, we have already implemented the highly anticipated clan group "Clan Owner" in our clan system and would like to officially establish it as such in the clans with today's update.
The main reason for the introduction of this clan group was that the creator of a clan previously had equivalent rights to a person appointed as a clan administrator. In practice, this meant that every clan administrator could theoretically demote other clan administrators (including the original creator of the clan) at any time, rename the clan or even delete it completely.
The new demarcation between the clan owner and the clan administrators will make such problems a thing of the past in future and, in addition to more stable management levels, will also ensure greater security in the administration of clan.
Clan test members
In order to better adapt the clan system to the actual circumstances and to support long-established or regular processes within the clans in the best possible way, we have decided to introduce a new clan group for newcomers: "Clan test members".
From now on, anyone new to a clan will no longer belong directly to the group of clan members, but must first prove themselves as a clan test member. With this change, we want to emphasize the hierarchy in clans more strongly in the future and, for the first time, create a visible demarcation to full and long-term loyal clan members.
Even if this distinction - due to the standard equality of rights - is rather cosmetic in nature, the new rights management tool can also be used to make this distinction much more pronounced at the request of the clan leadership. However, we would like to leave the use of this option entirely up to the clan leaders.
Revision of the clan menu
There have also been noticeable changes in the clan menu of our profile item. From now on, most of the clan features are also displayed in the form of GUIs (inventories) and can be used to their full extent. Thanks to the new and revised inventories, the clan menu can now be used as a central control unit for your own clan - without having to enter annoying commands in the chat.
In the "Overview of clan members" you will now find important information about the clan as well as the current ClanWar status and the ClanWar statistics (Elo and rank), which were previously only displayed on the website. Furthermore, the inventory has been expanded to include a filter function that allows all clan members to be sorted as desired. A total of eight different filters are available for this purpose. We have also expanded the functionality and content of the interaction menu (when you click on another clan member), which should enable faster and better interaction with other clan members in the future.
In the clan menu, members of the clan leadership will also be able to manage all aspects of the clan.
Similar to the friends menu, the clan menu now also offers the option of accepting or rejecting clan membership requests. Furthermore, you can now see when clan membership requests expire. If you have the appropriate authorizations, you can also change the clan membership status (whether clan membership requests may be made or not) here.
However, the brand new "clan permissions" are likely to be much more interesting for the management level of a clan. For the first time, these will make it possible to set the rights of the individual clan groups (clan test members, clan members, clan moderators and clan administrators) individually and customize them according to your own ideas. For example, in future it will be possible to set that clan moderators can also create clan reports or that equivalent clan groups can no longer revoke each other's ranks. Currently, 20 of the 22 clan permissions can be customized. You can find a brief overview of the configurable permissions in the following overview:
New commands and settings
The clan system has of course not only been expanded in the clan menu, but also in the commands and the "General settings" in the profile. At the same time, the adjustments there were taken as an opportunity to rearrange the command list and the command explanations on the "/clan" help page and to restructure them on four pages. There have also been some changes to the "/cw" help page. In the following, we would like to briefly explain the most important changes:
ClanWar statistics
In response to several requests from the clan scene, we have decided to add the command "/clan cwstats <clanname>". In future, you can use this command to call up the ClanWar statistics of your own or other clans and no longer have to visit the website to do so. If you execute the command, you can - similar to the already existing clan statistics - select in an overview for which mode you want to display the ClanWar statistics of the requested clan. Optionally, you can also add the desired mode directly to the command. Once you have selected a mode, you will be shown the Elo and the corresponding ranking, as well as the games played, the victories and defeats achieved and the victory rate.
Clan management chat
In order to be able to ensure communication at clan leadership level inGame in the future, we have decided to add the command "/clc <message>". With this you can write in the so-called "clan leader chat" in the future. By default, only the clan owner and the clan administrators have access to the clan management chat. However, access can also be granted to clan moderators if required via the "Clan authorizations" already introduced.
As a reminder: The receipt of clan messages (/cc) can be activated and deactivated in the profile via "Settings/Clan settings/Display clan messages". In future, this will also include messages in the clan leadership chat (/clc).
Clan info
For reasons of clarity, the command "/clan info" will no longer list clan members. From now on, only the name of the clan, the abbreviation of the clan (clan tag), the number of clan members and the link to the clan page (website) in the chat will be displayed when the command is executed.
To display the members of your own clan, you can now either use the clan menu in your profile or execute the newly introduced command "/clan list <number>". This command works in the same way as the friends system. This means that you can scroll through the list of clan members by entering a number and the sorting there is based on the filter selected in the clan menu. In this way, you will be able to view all clan members in the chat and will no longer be restricted to a limited selection.
To view the members of another clan, simply add the respective clan abbreviation of the desired clan to the above-mentioned command ("/clan list <clan abbreviation> <number>"). Since there are also clans with only numbers as clan abbreviations, it is a mandatory requirement that the number of pages must always be specified in addition to the clan abbreviation.
Clan notifications
In order to make it easier for larger clans in particular to track which people have entered and left the clan during their offline time, this information will now always be displayed by default the next time you enter the network. In future, players who have entered the clan via an invitation will also be taken into account.
The display of these so-called "clan notifications" can be activated or deactivated as desired in the "General settings" in the profile in the future if this should bother you.
As usual, you can take another look at all the changes in the update in our detailed changelog.
We hope you like the update! Please let us know your opinions on the new features. Of course, we are always open to improvements! We look forward to your feedback and creative suggestions 😊
With kind regards
