Hey-ya Minecrafters,

Tournaments have always been an integral part of Duels, delivering thrilling matches, nail-biting excitement all the way to the finals, and a true competitive atmosphere. That’s exactly why we have completely overhauled and modernized the entire tournament system. The goal of this rework is to make tournaments faster, clearer, and more flexible – for creators, participants, and spectators alike.

Cross-lobby tournaments, clear status indicators & rewards

One of the biggest new features is that tournaments now run across multiple lobbies. This means tournaments fill up much faster, and long waiting times are a thing of the past. At the same time, the system has been expanded with clear tournament status indicators.

Every tournament is always in a clearly recognizable state – whether it is still open for joining, already full, or currently in progress. These statuses are displayed in a clear and structured way, so you immediately know what’s happening and whether you can still join or watch. Maximum transparency for maximum fun!

At the end of the tournament, the winner is clearly determined and announced. The best players are honored in the tournament lobby, while all participants receive XP and coins for their performance.

Tournament creation – more control, more possibilities

Tournament creation still takes place via the familiar tournament NPC in the lobby, but it has been significantly expanded. When creating a tournament, you now have access to a wide range of settings that allow you to design the tournament exactly the way you want.

In addition to the number of participants, you can define the match duration and the match format. Whether it’s fast-paced best-of-1 duels or intense best-of-3 or best-of-5 rounds – you decide how competitive your tournament should be. A particularly exciting feature is the option to set custom rules for the final match, making the decisive battle even more epic.

Even after creation, you remain flexible: certain tournament settings can still be adjusted later in the lobby.

Play or spectate – the choice is yours

Already during tournament creation, you decide whether you want to actively participate or join as a spectator from the very beginning. Those who choose spectator mode can follow the entire tournament without taking up a participant slot.

Optionally, a tournament can also be announced server-wide. This announcement appears on all lobby and Gommunity servers and helps attract a large number of players to the tournament quickly.

Gomme Tournaments – the ultimate highlight

A special highlight of the new tournament system are the Gomme Tournaments. These tournaments clearly stand out from regular Duels tournaments and offer an even more intense competitive experience. They take place regularly and bring an extra level of excitement. The best players can earn gold and many other great rewards. But beware: the number of slots is limited to 48 players!

These Gomme Tournaments are more strongly focused on competition and create an even stronger tournament atmosphere thanks to their larger reach and high number of participants. The progress of all matches can be viewed clearly at any time, while players and spectators can follow the road to the grand final live.

With Gomme Tournaments, we are introducing a central event format that regularly delivers excitement and gives ambitious players the opportunity to compete on a big stage.

The tournament system rework brings numerous new features that take Duels tournaments to the next level. Try out the system in the upcoming tournaments, gather your first impressions, and feel free to share your feedback with us on the forum or on our Discord. Only with your feedback can we continue to improve the system in the future. We wish you lots of fun and great success in the new tournaments. Fight your way to the top!

Kind regards,
Your GommeHD.net Team
