Hello,
no, it absolutely isn't. People often try to pretend that you're obliged to test yourself by e.g. a Detective's order, but just ignore them. The guidelines for TTT (which are unfortunately only availabe in German so far) also say that there's no need to enter the Traitor tester at any time of a game.
Whenever you noticed a player killing you only because you didn't enter the tester (and after you made sure he isn't a Traitor), feel free to report them to us using /report <player> and select the reason "Random killing". You can also reenact the scene in a replay and report them right there if you aren't sure about the case.
