Hey-ya Minecrafters,

as you may have noticed, there are currently some “ban waves” taking place.
We implemented an anti-cheat system detecting forbidden client modifications and banning the players in one of the upcoming ban waves.

We are mainly talking about so-called “invis clients”, which only make minor changes to the client in order to get an advantage in-game. Contrary to obvious cheaters, these ones are hard to identify visually.

We are using fail-safe methods for this process, however, we cannot show them to the user visually. This obviously also means that users will not be able to view any proof for their violation as this process is based on solely technical calculations and facts. We would disclose too much information about our detection system by explaining them precisely.

We have concentrated mainly on the obvious cheaters for a long time now. This may be the reason why some invis cheats apparently have become a must-have for some people. It seems like it became a daily routine for them to tinker with their knockback, their range, the hitboxes, the placing speed etc. But this happens in such a tiny proportion that it’s hard or not at all possible to prove with a video evidence/report. But now there must be tough measures – even if this costs us some players, we let this matter slide way too long.

People who do not use any forbidden modifications and have a clean Minecraft installation will definitely not be banned by us during these waves. This obviously also includes people who have a high click speed. There will absolutely nobody be banned unjustified by these waves.

Current flags by the anti-cheat in some games/situations have nothing to do with these waves.
These are “normal” flags in the game and will be fixed within the next updates (one more time: they do NOT affect these waves).

However, during the last couple of months, there have already been thousands of bans by this system. That’s why we would like to appeal to all of you: keep your client clean and take part in a fairer gaming experience!
